Hospital Blinds
Reduce the spread of infection with BioCote® coated hospital blinds
The spread of MRSA and HAIs is a major concern in today's society and we're committed to providing hospital blinds which can help reduce the spread of infection.
These are the facts...
- An estimated 5,000 people die each year as a result of HAIs - greater than the number of road deaths
- 1 in 8 patients has a hospital infection at any one time
- Number of MRSA deaths risen by 35% since 2001
- HAIs cost the NHS more than £1 billion each year. One third could be recovered by improved infection control, releasing £150 million
- 68 litigation cases nationally since April 2002, costing the NHS more than £8 million
We use a specially engineered coating called BioCote® on our hospital blinds which uses silver based anti-microbial technology. The coating is introduced into the fabric of the blind at the dyeing process and also into the lacquer which coats the wands and headrails.
This coating causes the bacteria enzymes to break down, preventing them from producing the energy requied for reproduction, thus inhibiting the growth of bacteria.
For more information please feel free to contact us or alternatively see the BioCote® page.
As well as helping reduce the spread of MRSA and HAIs, our hospital blinds come in a range of styles with subtle tones and colours suitable for wards, care homes, etc.
