What is BioCote®?
- BioCote® is a silver based additive, incorporated into our products during the manufacturing process
- Added to fabric in the dye, to the wand and rail as a powder coating and into the handle as part of the polymer
- Once silver has been added, it is part of the product for life. It will not wash out or leach and is completely non-toxic
What does BioCote® do?
- BioCote® works against the spread of bacteria between the standard cleaning programmes
- BioCote® inhibits the growth of a wide range of bacteria, moulds and fungi on the surface of blinds, including: MRSA, E-coli, Salmonella, Clostridium difficile
- BioCote® reduces the levels of bacteria on surfaces by up to 99.9% over a 24 hour period and helps prevent bacterial cross-contamination, illness and infection in public environments
- BioCote® is not a substitute for cleaning, but an additional level of defence in the fight against bacteria
How does BioCote® work?
- When installed, then silver ions concentrate on the surfac of the product
- The ions bind with bacteria and causes the enzymes to break down
- Enzymes cannot produce the energy that enables bacteria to reproduce
- This inhibits the growth of bacteria
